The assassination of the Hamas leader in Damascus was not just an action directed against a terror organization; it was a message sent to Damascus in response to its increasing support for terror organizations.

From Damascus, Hamas financed the Hebron terror cell whose members carried out the double suicide bombing in Be'er Sheva. This fact may explain the search for accomplices to the killing in the Syrian capital. Israel will not officially confirm its connection to the case, and it doesn't have to. In any case, Israel is always blamed for these types of incidents; and this is precisely what Syria did yesterday in its announcement of the assassination. ,,,,,,,
